Cute retroMy Olioboard called Cute Retro

I just discovered this site where you easily can create your own dream living space using Olioboard, it is free and fun to use. It works like a very simple version of Adobe Photoshop and you can use the items on the site (which you can buy of course). -Clever advertising but it is possible to add your own images as well.

Some of the cute retro furniture are from Vintage Looks.

Sailor button earrings from Kawaiicph sweater from Petit Bateau

I bought some vintage buttons in a second hand store and made some jewellery from them. It is very easy to make these earrings:

First you cut of the button part with a diagonal cutter. The backside needs to be flat.

Then you glue on the earring studs, so simple, I gave them a lacquer coating afterwards so they are shiny and more durable.

Picture from my book Dansk Tatovering by Jon Nordstrøm. This picture is from a documentary from 1969 by Nils Vest and is a film about tattooing.

From the book Dansk Tatovering : graphics by Tattoo Peter, 1940

I love the naive and romtantic graphics you find in old-school tattoos.

Bikini from my vintage pin-up magazine goes nicely with the sailor style, would love one like it…

Kids sailor fashion with neon belt from Tommy Hilfiger.

Turning used Lego parts into grown-up toys. These ear studs are very small.

Lego means “I assemble / put together” in Latin and this toy continues to surprise in its ability to generate new ideas in the people “Lego-ing”. Even grown-ups find themselves engulfed in this game, and with a 4 year old in the house I have a perfect excuse to play..

It really requires patience to drill holes in hard plastic with a heated needle, so I took a break after doing one pink “diamond” Lego earring…

Fu manchu beard and Frankenstein Lego men earrings, definitely an icebreaker at any party!

I started making jewellery from vintage Lego parts a long time ago but haven´t showed them here yet, so here they are. Every time I wear them they generate nostalgic memories from people I meet.

Huge dark green Lego diamond ring, -actually a special Lego spare part and with an intricate construction.

Lego neon-yellow crystal diamond ring, also cute worn with a long colored string as a necklace.

More Lego crystal rings

Organic Lego leaf structures here used on hairpins.

A more classic variation is this smoke coloured Lego part ear stud. The shelf is from Retro Villa.

Tiny glitter shoe earrings in a shoebox from Harrods

I have a miniature stash of all kinds of tiny treasures the perfect size for jewellery making.

Bottle opener with bow

I have shown these sodapop earrings before, on the left you can get an idea of how small they are. I have given them a lacquer coating.

Playing card earring studs, decoupage and lacquer coated.

Vinyl record earrings. I made the hole by using a heated needle.

Mobile in my son´s room from acryllic squares which I drilled a hole through and hung on the ready made wire-mobile. It spreads the colours round the room when sunlight hits it.

I wanted to show you a DIY idea for your children´s rooms. My son´s room is very small and I wanted to give it personality and atmosphere. I had some leftover black paint, som masking tape, and a black pen. I drew the tree with a pencil and masked the lines with tape, then I painted twice. The branches are made with the masking tape afterwards and also painted twice. The small insects and characters are drawn with a black all-surfaces pen by free hand.

At the tree trunck I drew grass with the pen, it was the most difficult for some reason.

The boy on the swing is Silas -my son- this he loved! He is part of the magic tree and we tell many stories about the characters.

Tiny characters formed themselves on the tree.

The gentleman spider and Silas on his swing

Just wanted to show a miniature sodapop earring I made. The hole in the sodacan for the jewellery parts, was made with a needle.

I don´t usually take pictures of my food but this was such a nice snack: Home baked warm bread with cottage cheese, small tomatoes, fresh basil, salt and pepper, yummy!
